terms of service
Welcome to Our Hanok Home.
Our Hanok Home (“Our Hanok Home,” “OHH,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates www.ourhanokhome.com (the “Site”). Our online store is hosted by Shopify, which provides the e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Site, including purchases made through the Site, use of our products and digital materials, participation in workshops or events, and other interactions with Our Hanok Home.
By accessing or using the Site, creating an account, subscribing to our communications, submitting content, registering for an event, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and to the policies incorporated into them by reference, including our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, and Return Policy.
Please read these Terms carefully before using the Site.
1. ELIGIBILITY AND ONLINE STORE TERMS
By using this Site, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state, province, or jurisdiction of residence, or that you are the age of majority and have authorized any minor dependents in your care to use the Site.
You may not use our Site, products, services, designs, instructions, or content for any illegal or unauthorized purpose, violate applicable laws in connection with your use of the Site or Services, or transmit viruses, worms, malicious code, or other technology intended to damage, disrupt, interfere with, or gain unauthorized access to the Site or its users.
A breach or violation of these Terms may result in suspension or termination of your access to our Site or Services.
2. PRODUCTS AND AVAILABILITY
Our Hanok Home offers a range of products and services that may include gardening and seed kits, craft and DIY kits, ceramics and handmade goods, cookie molds and baking tools, stationery, home and lifestyle products, seasonal goods, digital guides, and workshops or events.
Certain products may be available exclusively online or in limited quantities. We reserve the right to limit quantities, restrict sales, discontinue products, modify descriptions, or change prices at any time without prior notice.
We may also limit purchases by person, household, customer account, payment method, shipping address, billing address, geographic location, or order. All offers are void where prohibited.
3. HANDMADE, NATURAL, AND SMALL-BATCH PRODUCTS
Many Our Hanok Home products are handmade, hand-finished, artisan-made, small-batch, or made using natural materials. Because of this, variations may occur in color, texture, glaze, dimensions, shape, surface markings, print placement, wood grain, clay finish, stitching, paper texture, and other handmade details.
These variations are part of the character of handmade and small-batch goods and are not necessarily defects.
We make reasonable efforts to display our products as accurately as possible. However, colors and other details may appear differently depending on your screen, browser, device, display settings, or lighting conditions. Minor variations between a photographed product and the item received do not, by themselves, mean that the product is defective.
4. SEEDS, PLANTS, AND GARDENING PRODUCTS
Our gardening products may contain seeds or other materials intended for planting and growing. Seed germination, plant health, growth, yield, and harvest results depend on many conditions outside our control, including climate, temperature, soil, watering, sunlight, planting depth, planting time, pests, disease, storage conditions, geographic location, and individual gardening practices.
Accordingly, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, Our Hanok Home does not guarantee seed germination rates, plant growth, harvest yield, plant health, or other gardening results.
Customers are responsible for determining whether particular seeds, plants, or gardening products are appropriate and lawful to grow, ship, receive, or cultivate in their location. Any planting instructions or gardening information provided by Our Hanok Home are offered for general educational purposes and do not guarantee a particular result.
5. CRAFT KITS AND DIY PRODUCTS
Our craft and DIY kits are designed to provide customers with materials and instructions for creating a finished project. Finished results will vary depending on individual technique, experience, environmental conditions, handling of materials, and other factors.
Images of completed projects are examples only. We do not guarantee that a customer's finished project will appear identical to photographs, prototypes, promotional images, or other examples shown on the Site or social media.
Customers are responsible for reading and following instructions, using materials and tools appropriately, exercising reasonable care, providing adult supervision where necessary, following age recommendations, and safely handling cutting tools, adhesives, candles, heat sources, or other materials. Some kits may contain small parts or tools and may not be suitable for young children.
6. CERAMICS AND FRAGILE GOODS
Ceramics and other fragile products should be handled with care. Handmade ceramics may contain natural variations in glaze, shape, texture, firing marks, dimensions, or surface finish. These variations may be inherent to the ceramic-making process and are not necessarily defects.
Unless expressly stated otherwise in the applicable product listing or care instructions, customers should not assume that a ceramic product is microwave safe, dishwasher safe, oven safe, freezer safe, suitable for direct flame, or appropriate for any use not specifically described.
Customers are responsible for following any care instructions supplied with the product.
7. COOKIE MOLDS, BAKING TOOLS, AND FOOD-RELATED CONTENT
Cookie molds, stamps, cutters, and other baking tools are sold as tools and do not guarantee any particular baking result. Results may vary depending on recipe, dough consistency, humidity, temperature, baking technique, oven performance, ingredient substitutions, and chilling or resting time.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, recipes, preparation ideas, serving suggestions, and other food-related information supplied by Our Hanok Home are provided for general informational purposes. Customers are responsible for considering food allergies, dietary restrictions, ingredient suitability, food handling, food safety, and other individual considerations.
8. DIGITAL PRODUCTS
Digital products, guides, downloads, templates, instructions, patterns, and other digital materials sold or distributed by Our Hanok Home are licensed for personal use only unless we expressly state otherwise.
Without our prior written permission, you may not reproduce digital products for resale, distribute paid downloads, publicly share paid files, upload them to public repositories, sell copies or substantially similar derivative versions, commercially exploit digital materials, or use them to manufacture products for commercial resale unless expressly permitted.
Because digital products are delivered electronically, digital purchases may be non-refundable once downloaded, accessed, or delivered, except where required by applicable law or expressly provided otherwise in our Return Policy.
9. WORKSHOPS, CLASSES, AND EVENTS
Our Hanok Home may offer workshops, classes, demonstrations, pop-ups, or other events. Additional terms may apply to individual events, including policies relating to age requirements, materials, attendance, cancellations, refunds, transfers, photography, participant conduct, and safety.
We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, reschedule, relocate, or reasonably modify an event. If we cancel an event entirely, the remedy available to registered participants will be provided in accordance with the applicable event listing, registration terms, or applicable law.
Participants are responsible for following reasonable safety instructions and exercising appropriate care when using tools, equipment, or materials.
10. ORDERS
We reserve the right to accept, decline, limit, modify, or cancel an order. Receipt of an order confirmation does not necessarily constitute final acceptance of the order.
We may cancel or modify an order due to inventory errors, product unavailability, pricing errors, suspected fraud, payment problems, shipping restrictions, duplicate orders, quantity limits, suspected unauthorized resale, or other operational or legal reasons.
If we cancel an order after payment has been captured, we will issue an appropriate refund. We also reserve the right to limit or prohibit orders that, in our reasonable judgment, appear to be placed by dealers, distributors, resellers, or other commercial purchasers without our authorization.
11. PRICING AND PAYMENT
Prices displayed on the Site are subject to change without notice.
You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing, shipping, and account information for purchases made through the Site. By submitting an order, you authorize Our Hanok Home and our applicable payment processors to charge your selected payment method for the total amount disclosed at checkout, including applicable taxes, shipping charges, and other disclosed fees.
We are not responsible for separate fees that may be charged by your financial institution, bank, credit card issuer, or payment provider.
12. SHIPPING
Shipping and delivery dates provided through the Site are estimates unless expressly stated otherwise. Order processing time and carrier transit time are separate.
Orders may experience delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including carrier delays, weather, holidays, customs processing, natural disasters, labor disruptions, incorrect or incomplete shipping information, or seasonal and peak-order volume.
Customers are responsible for entering a complete and accurate shipping address. We are not responsible for delays, failed deliveries, or additional shipping expenses resulting from incorrect or incomplete information supplied by the customer, except where otherwise required by law.
Additional shipping terms are provided in our Shipping Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
13. LOST, STOLEN, DELAYED, OR DAMAGED PACKAGES
If an order arrives damaged, please contact us within the timeframe stated in our Shipping Policy or Return Policy. We may request photographs or other documentation showing the damaged item, internal packaging, external shipping box or mailer, shipping label, and any visible damage to the shipment.
Claims relating to lost, stolen, delayed, or misdelivered shipments may require cooperation with the applicable shipping carrier.
Our responsibility for packages marked as delivered by a carrier will be determined in accordance with applicable law and our posted Shipping Policy. Nothing in this section limits consumer rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
14. RETURNS, EXCHANGES, AND FINAL SALE ITEMS
Returns and exchanges are governed by our posted Return Policy.
Certain products may be designated as final sale where appropriate, including personalized products, made-to-order products, opened or used products, digital downloads, event registrations, clearance merchandise, perishable or time-sensitive products, and other items specifically identified as final sale.
Where reasonably practicable, a final-sale designation will be disclosed before purchase. Nothing in our Return Policy or these Terms limits rights available to consumers under applicable law.
15. PRODUCT INFORMATION, ERRORS, AND OMISSIONS
We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate descriptions, photographs, prices, availability information, transit estimates, and other product information. However, typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omissions may occasionally occur.
We reserve the right to correct errors or omissions, update product information, modify listings, correct pricing or availability information, correct shipping information, and cancel or modify orders affected by an error.
If an error materially affects an order that has already been placed, we may contact you regarding available options.
16. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise stated, all content appearing on the Site is owned by or licensed to Our Hanok Home. This includes product designs, original motifs, illustrations, photographs, graphics, packaging, logos, trademarks, trade dress, written content, recipes, instructional materials, craft designs, cookie mold designs, stamps, templates, guides, digital downloads, artwork, videos, and website content and design.
Our content is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, trade dress, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, copy, modify, manufacture, distribute, publish, sell, license, commercially exploit, or create substantially similar commercial derivative works from our intellectual property without our prior written permission.
Purchasing a physical or digital product does not transfer ownership of the copyright, design rights, trademark rights, or other intellectual property associated with the product.
17. PERSONAL USE AND COMMERCIAL REPRODUCTION
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Our Hanok Home creative products and materials are intended for personal use.
Purchasing a mold, stamp, craft kit, pattern, template, digital guide, illustration, or other creative product does not automatically grant permission to commercially reproduce the underlying design.
Without prior written authorization from Our Hanok Home, you may not reproduce, manufacture, cast, scan, trace, digitize, copy, replicate, mass-produce, or sell reproductions of our original designs.
18. USER COMMENTS, REVIEWS, AND SUBMISSIONS
If you voluntarily provide us with photographs, reviews, comments, feedback, contest entries, ideas, suggestions, messages, or other materials (“Submissions”), you represent that you have the right to provide those materials.
You remain responsible for the content you submit. You may not submit material that violates another person’s intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights; is defamatory, unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, threatening, obscene, or misleading; or contains malware or malicious code.
We may use reviews, feedback, and other voluntarily submitted materials for legitimate business and promotional purposes, subject to applicable law and any consent requirements.
19. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The Site may use, link to, or interact with third-party providers, including Shopify, payment processors, shipping carriers, social media platforms, analytics providers, email providers, embedded tools, and other service or technology providers.
We do not control third-party websites or services and are not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices, security, policies, products, or services.
Your interactions with third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
20. PRIVACY
Your submission and use of personal information through the Site is governed by our Privacy Policy.
Please review our Privacy Policy for information regarding how personal information may be collected, used, stored, processed, and shared.
21. PROHIBITED USES
In addition to other restrictions stated in these Terms, you may not use the Site or its content for unlawful purposes, to solicit unlawful activity, to violate applicable laws or regulations, to infringe intellectual property rights, to harass or defame others, to submit false or misleading information, to upload malicious code, to scrape or collect information without authorization, to interfere with Site security, to impersonate another person or entity, to attempt unauthorized access to systems or data, or to commercially exploit Site content without authorization.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of this section.
22. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Site and Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, except where we expressly state otherwise.
We do not guarantee that access to the Site will always be uninterrupted, that the Site will always be secure or error-free, that all information will always be complete, accurate, or current, that every product will satisfy subjective expectations, or that gardening, crafting, cooking, baking, or creative outcomes will be identical to photographs, prototypes, instructions, or examples.
Except where prohibited by law, we disclaim warranties that are not expressly provided. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, remedies, or consumer rights that cannot legally be waived or excluded.
23. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Our Hanok Home and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, service providers, suppliers, agents, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages arising from or relating to your use of the Site, Services, or products.
This may include lost profits, lost revenue, lost savings, loss of data, replacement costs, loss of business opportunity, or other consequential losses.
Where liability cannot legally be excluded, liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit or exclude liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
24. INDEMNIFICATION
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Our Hanok Home and its owners, officers, employees, agents, contractors, affiliates, suppliers, service providers, and licensors from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable legal expenses arising out of or relating to your breach of these Terms, unlawful use of the Site or Services, violation of another person’s rights, misuse of our products, or unauthorized use of our content or intellectual property.
25. SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION
These Terms remain effective while you use the Site or Services.
We may suspend or terminate access to the Site or Services where reasonably necessary, including when we believe a user has violated these Terms, engaged in fraud, abused our Site or Services, infringed intellectual property rights, or created a legal or security risk.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply after termination.
26. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Any unenforceable portion will be severed or modified only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
27. WAIVER
Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
28. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
These Terms, together with the policies and other terms expressly incorporated into them by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and Our Hanok Home concerning your use of the Site and Services.
They supersede prior or contemporaneous communications, understandings, proposals, and prior versions relating to the same subject matter.
29. GOVERNING LAW AND VENUE
These Terms will be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, any court proceeding arising from or relating to these Terms, the Site, our Services, or a purchase from Our Hanok Home will be brought in the appropriate state or federal court located in San Diego County, California.
Nothing in this section prevents a consumer from exercising rights or remedies that applicable law requires to be available in another jurisdiction.
30. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update, revise, or replace these Terms from time to time.
The current version will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
Your continued use of the Site after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Payment information is generally processed through Shopify and third-party payment providers. We do not ordinarily receive or store your complete payment card number.
If you create or use a customer account, we may collect information associated with that account, such as your name, email address, saved addresses, order history, and account preferences.
If you contact us by email, contact form, social media, or another method, we may collect your contact information, the contents of your message, attachments you choose to send, and any other information necessary to respond to your request.
If you subscribe to our newsletter or other marketing communications, we may collect your name, email address, marketing preferences, and information about how you interact with our communications.
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may also automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages viewed, referring website, approximate geographic location, Site interactions, and cookie or similar technology identifiers.
2. HOW WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may use personal information to operate and improve Our Hanok Home and to provide products and services to you.
This may include processing and fulfilling orders, accepting payments, shipping products, providing delivery updates, administering returns or refunds, responding to customer inquiries, operating customer accounts, communicating about workshops or events, preventing fraud, maintaining Site security, improving our products and customer experience, analyzing how visitors use the Site, maintaining business records, complying with legal obligations, and enforcing our Terms of Service and other policies.
We may also use your information to send marketing communications when permitted by law and when you have subscribed or otherwise consented to receive them.
We may use personal information for other purposes disclosed to you at the time the information is collected.
3. SHOPIFY
Our online store is hosted by Shopify.
Shopify provides the technology we use to operate our store and may process personal information in order to provide services such as website hosting, checkout, payment processing, fraud prevention, customer accounts, analytics, security, and other e-commerce functionality.
Depending on the services and features enabled on our store, Shopify may also process information based on your interactions with Shopify and other merchants.
Shopify may process personal information in countries other than the country in which you live. Shopify’s own handling of information is governed by its privacy practices and policies.
4. HOW WE DISCLOSE PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may disclose personal information to third parties and service providers when reasonably necessary to operate our business, fulfill orders, provide services, protect our business, or comply with legal obligations.
For example, information may be shared with Shopify for store hosting and e-commerce services, with payment processors to complete transactions, and with shipping or fulfillment providers so that your order can be delivered.
We may also use email, analytics, marketing, fraud-prevention, website-performance, and technology providers that process information on our behalf.
Personal information may be disclosed to professional advisers such as accountants, attorneys, insurers, consultants, or other service providers when reasonably necessary for legitimate business purposes.
We may also disclose information when we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to comply with law or legal process, enforce our agreements, prevent fraud, protect our rights or property, or protect the safety or rights of others.
If Our Hanok Home is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale, or transfer of business assets, personal information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction as permitted by law.
5. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
The Site may use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to support Site functionality and understand how visitors interact with our store.
These technologies may be used to keep the Site functioning, remember preferences, understand website traffic, measure performance, prevent fraud, provide analytics, and support marketing or advertising features when enabled.
Some cookies are necessary for the operation of the Site, while others may be optional.
Depending on your location, you may be provided with tools that allow you to accept, reject, or manage certain cookies or data-sharing activities. You may also be able to control cookies through your browser settings.
6. ADVERTISING, SALE, OR SHARING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We do not sell personal information for money in the ordinary sense of the word.
However, some privacy laws define terms such as “sale” or “sharing” more broadly. Certain uses of advertising, analytics, or marketing technology may be considered a sale or sharing of personal information under applicable law even when no money changes hands.
If our use of technology constitutes a sale or sharing under applicable law, we will provide any notices, choices, or opt-out mechanisms required by law.
Where applicable, you may also be able to communicate certain privacy preferences through recognized browser-based signals, such as Global Privacy Control.
7. EMAIL MARKETING
If you sign up to receive marketing communications from Our Hanok Home, we may send you information about new products, seasonal launches, workshops, events, restocks, editorial content, or other OHH news.
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link contained in the message.
Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not prevent us from sending transactional or service-related communications when necessary, such as order confirmations, shipping updates, account notices, or responses to customer-service inquiries.
8. DATA RETENTION
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to carry out the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
For example, we may retain information in order to complete transactions, maintain business and tax records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce our agreements.
The length of time we retain information may vary depending on the nature of the information, the reason it was collected, and applicable legal requirements.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials you use and for notifying us if you believe your account or personal information has been compromised.
10. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
Our Site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the Site.
Products that may be appropriate for children are intended to be purchased by adults and do not mean that the Site itself is directed toward children.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate authorization, please contact us so that we can review and address the situation.

If you access the Site from another country, your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States or in other countries where Shopify or our service providers operate.
Privacy and data-protection laws in those countries may differ from the laws in your country of residence.
12. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on where you live and which privacy laws apply to you, you may have certain rights relating to your personal information.
These rights may include the ability to request access to personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of certain information, receive information about how your information is used or disclosed, obtain a portable copy of certain information, opt out of certain sales, sharing, or targeted advertising, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, or appeal certain privacy decisions where applicable.
These rights are not absolute and may be subject to legal exceptions.

13. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS
California residents may have additional rights under California privacy laws.
If and to the extent that applicable California privacy laws apply to Our Hanok Home, California residents may have rights regarding access to personal information, correction, deletion, information about certain disclosures, and the ability to opt out of certain sales or sharing of personal information.
Applicable law may also provide protections against discriminatory treatment for exercising privacy rights.
Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to suggest that Our Hanok Home is subject to a particular privacy statute unless the legal requirements for that statute actually apply.
14. DO NOT SELL OR SHARE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION
If applicable privacy law gives you the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and our use of technology constitutes such sale or sharing, you may exercise those rights through any privacy controls or opt-out mechanisms provided on the Site.
You may also contact us at ourhanokhome@gmail.com with privacy-related questions or requests.
